Deep tissue massage treatments can use a variety of pressure (often deeper, more intense and focused than in relaxation styles) to speed up healing and recovery time and to also help prevent injury. If you’re an athlete they’ll be sure to tell you that it’s not just the exercise itself, but also regular massage that benefits them.
Many of our Torquay clients mix up their treatments by receiving a deep tissue massage by feeling “it’s necessary” – as by just keeping fit and staying active, they can find it helps in many ways:
-Less likely getting more injuries, by getting rid of the tension in the muscles.
-Recovering easier and faster after exercise.
-Muscle relaxation.
-Fighting fatigue.
-Swelling around the joints relieved.
-Improved flexibility and body strength.
Perfect if you’re someone who regularly pushes your body, but also really benefits those everyday types- if you’re running around with small children all the time, or you have a physically demanding job. Great after a big surf session in the Torquay waves to treat back or muscle strain.
Although this style of modality isn’t designed to relax and pamper you, be aware it can leave you feeling a little tired or sore, so plan to go easy on yourself for some time afterwards.
Hot tip: It’s not a good idea to have a heavy meal prior, or consume alcohol in the hours leading up to your treatment. You want to drink plenty of water post-treatment to assist the ‘flushing’ of stored toxins.
